I will prioritize features to implement mostly based on popularity and complexity.

this a great tool but it's hampered by no way to preview what the final merged cuts will look like - at the very least you need an option to automatically stop playback at the end of a cut to make sure you have put the cut mark where you want.

Thanks for this gorgeous piece of software!

Can we please have a feature to keep/discard subtitle tracks (similar to the feature for toggling to keep/discard audio). I know I can just disable the subtitle tracks, but this gets really annoying when I have a series of video files with 10+ subtitles.

Thanks for you time. I would love to see option for default playback speed, in which I could change it from 100% to 150% or 200%. Instead of pressing (L) each time I want to speed up the video.

One other thing is startup time. It often takes me just as long to startup the program than to do the cuts. I know that a lot of it is outside of your control, so it would be worth profiling it and seeing if the parts that are in your control are worth optimizing

Startup time I'm assuming it's a problem because you automatically start losslesscut with the command line option to open a video file automatically, then close it again and reopen with a new video? Could it be worked around by having some other way to signal lossless-cut about opening a file?

@dawnlau Im not sure how to even do that with an open files dialog. Is it possible to select files from multiple dirs on windows/macos?

After I select a file, when I select another file, it will ask me to replace the former one or include all its tracks. Maybe a merge option can be added.

1. Ability to set the name of the generated output file (e.g. text field left of the export button)
2. When no file is opened, clicking into the drop zone should open the open dialog

I once again have to ask for a way to name the output file like in the merge files dialog. Doing this over the export options dialog feels a little inconvenient :upside_down_face:

And one more small thing, the bounding box around the sunflowers is very big 🇺🇦 I occasionally click it when I don't want to.

More options that way would certainly be good but the names I want to give are not based on the source filename but on what I see during cutting and merging the clips.

I have tons of similar named files in the format <application name> <date> - <time>.mp4. I would love to cut and rename them in one go.

Ideally it should allow exporting of all settings, unless there's a config file that can just be backed up.

There is a config file. It’s stored inside the appdata or application support folder for LosslessCut

really minor but would probably be really helpful to my workflow, could we have a notification sound when an operation is done processing? I use LosslessCut to clip a ton of videos and I find myself not realizing an operation's completed for a while!

btw, this program is the BOMB for me, it's been super helpful for my relatively-involved archiving project, and it seldom fails if at all so I'm so thankful for it

UI button change

On a 4K 49" inch TV I use as a monitor I don't normally look at the corner of my screen since it is huge, so I missed where the blue export button location and I couldn't save my video segments. The export button is too small and in a corner you don't usually see (unless I want to know the time and date).

Here is what I see

All Microsoft Windows Programs have trained you to look at the pop-up window. And only the pop up window. They imply this behavior by preventing you from clicking any part of the larger program window if a new small pop-up window shows up demanding your attention. So all the buttons you need to press should be inside the popup window, not outside of it.

I know the pop-up is optional and can be turned off.

The export button should be moved into the pop up menu if you enabled the pop-option. Here is where I suggest you put the export button. Making it 2x to 4x larger would also help since it doesn't intuitively show up in the "File" menu either.

Great Program by the way! Previously used SolveigMM Video Splitter, but version 7.6 can't process (lags and freezes) any 20+GB footage @ 4K60fps h264 MKV files.

the reason why the button is in the lower right, is that in the previous (main) view, the button is also in the bottom right, and I want people to be able to double click the button to first get a quick glance of the export dialog and then immediately export. Next version will have menu items to zoom in / zoom out the UI.

When using the discard mode, I would love to have the ability to choose a type of discard per segment:

• Cut out (discard frames) ← currently the only available one
• Mute video (makes video frames black, but keeps audio)
• Mute audio (makes audio silent, but keeps video)
• Mute video & audio (makes audio silent and video frames black)
