Chrome does not yet have the necessary APIs for this feature, but I'll be adding
photo upload as soon as the APIs are available, reportedly in the 2nd quarter
of 2010.

Does this same issue include pasting of images from clipboard into a post, such
as
screenshots? I realize the uploading issue would be the same, but what about
the
pasting of the image into the post (ie, knowing where the temp image is located
in
cache)? Like this issue in the Firefox version:

Thanks!

Yes, this includes pasting and drag+drop of local images. The only images that
can
be included right now are images that are already on the Web somewhere.

Just checked out Scribefire for Chrome the other night, and I noticed right
away that
the upload feature was lacking. The user interface is great though! I know
that these
things take time to get implemented, so for now I'll keep using the Firefox
version
when I need to upload something to my photoblog. Thanks for all of the work on
this,
I'm looking forward to seeing future changes.

Thanks Rick; trust me - as soon as Chrome adds the necessary API for allowing
extensions to access and upload files, there will be an update to ScribeFire
adding
image upload.

Have you looked at how Explain and Send are dealing with images? Would that be
of any hope in working around the missing Chrome Extension API that you are
waiting for?

Ability to paste screenshots (and fine-tune them in the client. E.g. drop
shadow, resize) is actually the only real big reason that makes me use Windows
Live Writer most of the time. It would be great to see it in ScribeFire

Would be great If you could somehow do something like the FLOCK team once
accomplished in their original version of flock, based on mozilla, that would
be even better (from flock, it was possible to upload pictures and very easily
crop and resize them before upload! - as far as i am aware, that is the only
software i've seen that does this in an extremely simple, easy to understand
way.. a lot of people got upset with flock when they switched to a chrome based
version of their browser, and ditched the photouploader, and if scribefire
could take over where they left off, you would surely get all the old flock
fans switching to use it.. the source code of mozilla flock is available..
perhaps the relevant bits could somehow be extracted and used in some
fashion..(http://code.google.com/p/flock/). )

I saw that my post:
http://code.google.com/p/scribefire/issues/detail?id=1831#c0 was listed as a
duplicate for this one. I'm trying right now to drag and drop an image that
was saved to my computer with Safari and it's not working. I haven't tried yet
with Firefox to see if it works.
Also, what about the ability that if I paste an image which is usually large,
it automatically creates multiple versions of that image so that I can keep a
smaller image on the blog post but let it link to the full size larger image?
Original comment by shahr...@r1i.com

I'm considering this fixed, since in Chrome and Firefox, images can be uploaded
by manually choosing a file, or by dragging and dropping, or by copying and
pasting. Once Safari and Opera fully support the HTML5 APIs, it will
automatically work there as well.
