What's the problem?
I am testing a number of blogging engines, using virtualhosts. At one point I
had habari on the list, and 4 blogs that were automatically mounted for
b2evolution. When I tried to ad dotclear, after enabling XML/RPC to allow
scribefire to communicate I clicked on 'Add a New Blog' and gave it the vhost
url. It processed that and asked for username and password. It processed that
and told me the blog was installed. I did this three times, and the dotclear
blog passed all tests and always failed to show up on the drop down list.

What browser are you using?
Firefox 9.0.1

What version of ScribeFire are you running?
Scribefire Next 4.0

Just checked through other open issues and found people having problems getting
wordpress blogs into the blog dropdown. For some reason dotclear was identified
as a wordpress blog.

Turns out it IS possible to link.
The blog type must be set to metaweblog
The API URL must be set to blogs_url/admin/xmlrpc.php?b=default
The remaining parts are obvious.

In order to use this source you have to be able to read French. It finally
turns out to be useful ;-)
