Support for AHBPROT through Homebrew Channel #289

I don't know how much good it would do, but if I've read it right, should
remove the need for cIOS and a few other problems. The amount of code required
meanwhile back is another question. I apologize; my English fails. Please read:

Updates to HackMii/HBC installer involving the title pass:
http://hackmii.com/2010/07/hackmii-installer-v0-7/

Reference for AHBPROT:
http://hackmii.com/2009/08/of-tmds-and-hardware/

There's undoubtedly others, but I prefer to refer to "first party" (eg: people
who created) for such things due to a lack of knowledge.

Thanks, and sorry if you've already started on this and I'm just being
annoying. ~*nix

* Correction: BootMii/HBC Installer.

As I said, my English fails. Using a friend's account to post this, and he
caught that just after I posted.

1. Ios58 was important to the homebrew channel because the HBC did not have
usb2.0 support. Everything else already had usb2.0
2. Ios58 is slower than cIOS.
3. why rewrite half of wiiflow to patch things natively that cIOS does
internally?
4. I dont support team twiizers in attempting to force every app to not use
cIOS, they are not god. This falsely informs people like you that it is
superior to use nintendo code.

Far from what he meant, but I cannot complain as far as your policy or opinion
of a tool/etc. You're doing this for free and I wont judge you on that.

However, be aware that there are those of us who jitter about such heavy
changes to how the Wii runs. He never said it was *superior*, or even better.
Anything could be injected into any given scrap of code. There is no accusation
there, but comfort levels get higher the less you have to mess with such things.

Nintendo has a long standing group of policies that serverely bother almost all
of us with half a brain. Your mention of code that isn't as good as
homebrew/unrecognized is a good example. It can't be overly difficult to code a
stable, nice USB 2 interface, and yet they wait this long to do so.

I'mma leave this alone, and I'll handle him in the meantime. If you have a
response, it will be the last word.

ios58 just doesnt offer the same speeds, access, or flexibility as cios. And
cIOS only gets better and better. My sharp words are not directed at your
friend, but more at the false ideas TT is starting to impose upon people like
him. TT chose to go that route of using ios58 because its harder for backup
loaders to use it (among other things). It was a direct attack upon us, and
another way of calling us pirates. I could very well support this, but ive
just chosen not to because of the fact TT chose to dictate it upon the homebrew
scene, as if they own the scene.
