Reading ISO from Upnp Server or SMB share ? #295

Hi Guys,

don't know if this is something even possible to do ?

In addition to FAT / NTFS / WBFS, being able to read ISO from a SMB share on a 
NAS or an Upnp server.

Right now, this is not possible. It would require CIOS to make a network 
connection and have smb support. I doubt the amount of memory on the ARM side 
is capable of doing that. 

Besides that, the speed is horrible. We've tested this with the Wode, which is 
capable (with some software hacks) to do this.

Therefor, this is a wontfix.

Sorry to bother you, just have one last question.

the tests you did with the Wode where WIFI based, I guess ?
Do you think it would work with a USB <-> Ethernet adapter and LAN cables ?

Just speaking in terms of speed not to mention the CIOS to be updated.
