WiiFlow lists files that it can't run #420

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Rip game from WBFS drive with ncWBFStool
2. Meet all criteria for file/folder naming on NTFS drive
3. Run WiiFlow
4. Select ncWBFStool-ripped game

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected game to run. Didn't run, instead, defaulted back to the WiiFlow menu
after "Please Wait" displays for a few seconds

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.2 beta r304, 4.1u

Please provide any additional information below.
I know ncWBFS is a little outdated. I've already begun re-transferring
everything with Wii Backup Manager. But, I'm just saying, some people might
not realize, and so WiiFlow shouldn't add a game to the list if it's not one it
can play.

And how should we detect that we can't play it? It's like the chicken and the
egg ;)

Anyway, I don't know ncWBFStool, and I don't know what kind of files it's gonna
create. I can't tell you if this is a bug in wiiflow, or in ncWBFStool. Try the
games with a newer tool like Wii Backup Manager and let us know if they work
then. If they do, the issue is with ncWBFStool.

definitely not wiiflow ^... too many ppl use wbfs_tool and wii backup manager
to contest that.

My issue isn't that they didn't run. Like I said in the original post, I'm
converting them with backup manager right now. Maybe you should only display
games with extensions that you know will work, like the main three: iso, ciso
and wbfs. WBFStool makes wbi files, and none of them ran.

Or at least say somewhere that "Anything other than iso, ciso or wbfs is not
likely to run. Use Wii Backup Manager to convert to a format that will work
with Wiiflow."

Seriously, can you guys not read right?
