2.5TB WD Essentials Drive is NOT Detected #520

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

Please remember: do NOT enter issues on non released version. If you
downloaded a revision which you got from the IRC, or which you compiled
yourself, you can tell us all about the issue in IRC. This page is only for
released versions of Wiiflow. Every issue about a non-released version,
will be marked Invalid (Please remove this text before submitting)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Plug in a 2.5TB Western Digital Essentials hard drive
2.Start up the newest version of Wiiflow (doesn't matter either way)
3.Shabam! No hard drive detected period.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the games, but instead it's a vast blank area of nothingness.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
System Menu 4.3 with priiloader blocking out the 249 stubbing of IOSes and
using the newest cIOS that's compatible with Wiiflow (Grabbed from WiiFlowiki)

Please provide any additional information below.

I've tried my 2TB of the same exact brand and series and it works so it's
something up with 2.5TB that's making it go crazy. I'd be glad to test things
out on it too so anything could help

Doesn't any HDD larger than 2TB require GPT to format or even read correctly?
Perhaps this is the reason.

All the HDD larger than 2TB have sector size greater than 512B, typically 4KB.
They are not supported by any other cios than d2x v6+.
Of course also the loader must support this kind of HDD to show the game list.
