Google search does not start up correctly on ipad ios after 8.1.3 update #669

I have been using google search via a bookmark on my ipad3 for 2 years, with 
the most recent ios 8.1.2.  A couple weeks ago i updated ios to 8.1.3. Now when 
i start google search via a safari bookmark, when i type the first character in 
the search box, the google search box is raised to the top of the screen (it 
starts in the middle of screen).  With the search box at the top, the keyboard 
has disappeared, and i have to again start the data entry in the search box.  
Very annoying and slow.  Can this be fixed or bypassed?
