No graphs for processes and apache

Hi,

I'm running Monitorix 3.7.0 from Fedora repository. Unfortunately there are issues with generating the graphs for processes and apache.

I can see monitorix collecting data in the log -

But no graphs are generated.

Is there a way of debugging this, i've already added the -d all param, but I can't see any error messages :(

Can you, please, say which version of RRDtool are you using there? Also, can you check in the Monitorix log file to see if the are some error messages?

Are you using the HTTP built-in server or an external HTTP server like Apache, Nginx, etc.? If you are using the default HTTP built-in Monitorix server, please, check the monitorix-httpd log file for error messages, and let me know.

Hi,

I'm running apache, internal server is disabled in monitorix.conf.

Some more information, the browser displays ERROR: while graphing /var/lib/monitorix/www/imgs/process01.1day.png: Could not save png to '/var/lib/monitorix/www/imgs/process01.1day.png' ERROR: while graphing /var/lib/monitorix/www/imgs/process01z.1day.png: Could not save png to '/var/lib/monitorix/www/imgs/process01z.1day.png' instead of the image.

The path itself is correct (but the files are not there), OS-wise.

in apache error log I get AH01215: Use of uninitialized value in multiplication () at /usr/lib/monitorix/process.pm line 1456. AH01215: Use of uninitialized value in multiplication () at /usr/lib/monitorix/apache.pm line 601.

Theres a * inbetween the ( ), but I guess the censors cut it out :)

It's not a new setup of Monitorix.

All other graphs get generated and displayed, but for those for apache and processes.

I still think that this is a permissions issue.

Look, you probably used Monitorix with the built-in HTTP which generated some graphs with its own user and group permissions. Then, you switched to Apache but the graphs generated by the built-in server still are there and Apache has no permission to overwrite them.

Please, go to /var/lib/monitorix/www/imgs/, remove all the *.png files, and let the Apache generate all graphs again.

Yes and no :D

Removing all the files didn't help, but what did, was to fix the permissions on the imgs folder. For some reason (during FC20 > FC21 upgrade, I'd guess) the permissions/owner were (re)set to drwxr-xr-x 2 nobody nobody, changing them back to apache:apache fixed the problem for me.

What threw me off was the already existing pngs still beeing generated. Lesson learned.
