VS 2015, build does not stop on 1st error. #42

I've a multiple CSPROJ SLN. If we're building 13 projects and project 2 has an compilation error I expect the build to stop. It doesn't. I've tried resetting the value of "Stop Build on First Error" from False to True without a change -- this build keeps going.

The VS About box Copy output is pasted below. Please advise whether this is a defect, working as designed / which-is-currently-limited, something I did, or something else.

Is it this only solution or any multiple .csproj solution?

Does the build output show in red where the build error occurs? If not then it won't "see" the error.

Take a snap screen shot of the output window where the build error occurs and paste it into the issue.

This is a multiple .csproj SLN. The build output shows in red where the first error occurs. Below is the VS / Tools / Options for VSColorOutput, then screen captures of the entire (long) build output.

Well I'm stumped. I get feedback from users regularly that they really like the stop on first error feature (it's part of the product from almost day one). Maybe VS Enterprise behaves differently.

Can you reproduce it with the version of VS 2015 that you have?

I tried to repro it before responding earlier. Like I said, lots of people use this feature. That's not to say it isn't broken, just that you have something unusual.

I'm seeing the same problem. Version 2.5 of the plugin.

Hi, any news about this issue?

I tried two different plugins for stop-on-error without success. I'm using VS2017 Prof and compiling by 2015 v140 compiler.

Errors are correctly formatted but stop-on-work do nothing.

I had both StopOnFirstBuildError and VSColorOutput installed and had the same issue that the build didn't stop, then I uninstalled StopOnFirstBuilderError and suddenly it worked. Maybe they don't play nice with each other?
