feature request: bike routes

Perhaps totally outside of the scope of Gather, but...One of the largest barriers to women and children walking and biking is the dangerousness of the activity...Cars are death machines to peds and bikes. One way to combat this fear is to gather together in a group. At the lycra-clad fat old men extreme, you get those weekend peletons. At the other end, you get walking or biking schoolbus concept.

I have a vague notion that Gather could be useful for this. For example, I'd post my regular route plus variations on it, and others could take the same streets, perhaps similar times on their bike trips, thus informally increasing the numbers of bikes on a route and increasing the safety.

You could probably also get a grant to fund development of this from, say, safe routes to school money, or healty cities type movements.
