What about something like a levelling laser, pointing upwards in front of the wall and a camera to record the position of the ball as it crosses the laser plane and lights up? The ball would be illuminated for a few milliseconds so you may need a reasonable camera.

Ye that could work tho the ball isnt very reflective and you would need a very high FPS camera.
