UX Feedback - first time user experience #1

Just providing you with details on first time user experience.

Very first impression was that I saw the message "No entries today" and I thought "what!? of course I have timers." Then I saw the message, "Please visit the Options page and configure Hayfever."

This makes me wonder - can you suppress the table of timers and display a message that says, "You must first setup Hayfever before you can manage your timers." Or something to that effect?

This is just a nit of course. Moving on to the setup...

I will add one more note. As a user who tends to click through on messages quickly without reading them - bad habit I know - it would be great if "options" could be linked to the options area in Chrome. I did have to think and stumble around for a moment to find where to enter my options.

Hmm, I agree with you on the original issue. I'll suppress the timesheet view and make the "Visit Options" message more front and center for first time users.

As far as integrating options more tightly with Chrome, that's a little more tricky. I do want to find a more intuitive way to get to the options page, though.

Thanks for the play-by-play. I'm digging the stream of consciousness vibe.
