Is this new repository for ZSI? #1

Hi,

I would like ZSI to evolve a bit because we use it on several projects (Zope 2.13.19, Plone 4.2.4, ...). The SF SVN is old and does not show much activity, and I wonder where is the place where the package could continue to live. Is it here?

Do you know pypi ZSi mainteners? I would like a new version to be released because I use 2.1a1 and it is not the released version on pypi... Pypi's version is a very old 2.0rc3...

Thank you ;-)

Unfortunately I don't have good news for you :(

All of the commits since 87eb9ca8a964a0ac086eeb3e89623a3e836b519e were made according to our needs for digsby. Some changes may have been inspired by unreleased improvements that exist in the original ZSI repository, but they weren't necessarily copied in their entirety.

Additionally I don't have the spare time to maintain a large project such as this, and I don't know who to contact from the original project in order to keep it going properly.

I'll accept pull requests (properly documented and tested of course) but I don't have any guidance on the direction the project should go so it'd mostly be up to other folks (at this point, you ) to determine that.

Thank you for the answer ;-)

As I do not know another solution than ZSI in python, I think it is necessary to maintain this project and try to resurrect the existing SF repository and officially port it to Github somewhere...

I will look around if I can reach some ZSI project admins. Do you have any contact to SF project admins as there are not really defined and existing mainteners do not show much activity on the project or on SF...

Thank you,

Gauthier

The only maintainers I've ever seen the names of are those listed on the project page at http://pywebsvcs.sourceforge.net/zsi.html : rsalz@datapower.com and blunck@python.org

hope that helps!
