Fix for https://github.com/mikefrederick/MFSideMenu/issues/106 and #128 #179

The fix merged in https://github.com/mikefrederick/MFSideMenu/issues/153 did not fix it as advertised.

This patch uses the change suggested by @fotisp in issue #106 and reverts the non-working fix in #153 .

I accidentally committed some ugly stuff. I'll start over later and mayeb submit a new PR.
