I saw a rendering on G+, but can find no information anywhere about what this is and what it will be used for...

Hi Pete,

I’ll update the github readme soon and also publish all related files (when I’ve placed an order for PCB manufacturing and the factory has validated the layout).

In short, it’s a board based on the atmega1284p (more flash, more ram, faster) as opposed to the Arduino Ethernet with it’s atmega328p. It also features an Wiznet W5200 ethernet controller and an RS485 driver.

The headers are compatible with the Arduino Ethernet. In addition there are screw-terminals for the I/O’s.

Sounds interesting! Hope it works out. Will you still be able to use the Arduino IDE to program it? Thanks

Although it's Arduino Ethernet compatible, my own focus will be to run FreeRTOS on it. I will however give it a go at getting it to work with the Arduino IDE, but it's not a high priority for me.
