You can move left/right by shipping on the black strip between screens. But
don't touch close to the home button.

Boy I didn't realise the strip was not just a piece of plastic! Gosh, thanks!
Hari, is there any way I could change the size of the icons in Trook and
Filemanager? To resemble a "list view" instead of a "thumbnail view". I think 3
or 4 columns of 4 rows of (icon + filename) would be quite ideal, in terms of
having to scroll less?

I meant swipe btw.
I can modify the file manager code to do this. Haven't looked at the Trook code
in a while. But craftycoder might be able to help, since he changed Trook
recently.

Here is the filemanager app with vertical listview. I had to change some of the
code as well. So, it's not configurable & won't be able to switch back & forth.
I haven't tested it much. Take a look and see if it works ok. I'll add it in
the downloads section later this week.

Thanks!
May I offer a few humble suggestions.
1) Currently, the File Manager sorts files and folders by alphabetical order.
Depending on the folder name, some folders end up in the middle of the list
(http://www.box.net/shared/d8zea9zm3c). Folders could be excluded from this
sort and be listed at the top of the list as in Windows Explorer.
2) I think horizontal scrolling would take better advantage of the rectangular
shape of the LCD screen in allowing a 4 columns of icons on the screen. For
each swipe, users would be able to go through up to 16 files. I also propose to
eliminate the display of the file size altogether. Here's a graphical
illustration of how it could look like - http://www.box.net/shared/kl1u2iuavd
Best regards,
Jay

That requires more code changes & the filenames are not going to be short all
the time. This view will not look correct in that case.
I think the vertical scrolling is a bit better than the old one. craftycoder
told me he is working on a fileman app that has a similar GUI to the nookMedia
app. We should probably wait for that instead of making too many changes in
here.

Hari, I am going on vacation so don't expect a 24 hour turn around like with
nookMedia. ;^)

I personally prefers the newer implementation of file manager, just it's a bit
waste space for only one column as mentioned by redgoldblibberinghumdinger.
BTW, is using e-ink screen to display files ever considered?
