any way to change public hostname on container without having to destroy #181

Is there any way to change the PUBLIC_HOSTNAME variable on docker restart (..so I do not have to keep recreating my image)? Some background: I have my openvas docker instance running on an ec2 instance (yes, with the appropriate aws pen test auth in effect) but sooner or later, I'll have a situation where the instance will hang in such a way that locks me out of the instance and I'll have to attempt to stop/start from the ec2 console.
