In addition to recommending wildlife-friendly plants, the Plant Finder houses all of the City of San Francisco’s plant lists for all other purposes. These include what San Francisco Public Works recommends for its Sidewalk Planting Permit and through its Thrifty 150 list. Visitors to the site can also find the Stormwater Plant Palette, published by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC). One can also find the City’s recommended Street Tree List.
Click on the links to the different City Lists below and then proceed to filter those lists for various habitat and other sustainability variables. These lists include many habitat-friendly species of plants. Note: the SFPUC’s climate appropriate plant list can be found here.

[x] How about we link the titles of the Plant Palettes, just repeating the link that each has at the end of the description linked at “Plant Finder”? That way they stand out in green like the other titles.
[x] No external links for this section I think is fine, but let’s add at the end of the Sandy Soil text: “Also see this much longer list of plants appropriate for sandy soils.” Link ‘sandy soils’ to a list that is generated by clicking on “all habitat plants” and then filtering for sand.
[x] Since the RESOURCES TOC is so long now, what do you think of adding some
[x] I realized that we can consolidate the two City Lists sections into one, so how about this: See attached word doc! City Lists text 042017.docx I updated all of the links, and edited down the text, and now the link from the homepage would go here, et voila!
[x] ABOUT
need a space after San Francisco Plant Finder in line one. I think I saw a couple of other cases, but can get those whenever…
Green Connections link doesn’t work
[x] HOME. When you click on a list at the top and then a filter, it should say both in the explanation at the top of the ensuing plant list. For example, if you click Super 60 and a filter, it should cite both, but it only cites the filter.
[x] HOME. I can see why Paula doesn’t like pop-ups, in the case of the “Special Lists:” and “City Lists:” the cell extends far to the right, so that pop-up kind of gets in your way…
[x] Species Info pages, still need “Additional characteristics, notes” field added. At the bottom probably.
[x] LISTS. The “Check for nursery availability…” statement should only be for lists that include plants from the Super 60. They are the only ones we asked the nurseries about.
[x] What is your typical convention for External links? I like a new tab…
[x] RESOURCES. For the “View [Nursery] plants on Plant Finder” after each nursery contact info, can we set it off a bit, with a, or better maybe a “fat arrow >” or something?
[x] GLOSSARY. Link “stormwater ordinance” in Stormwater definition in Glossary
[x] RESOURCES. Plant Lists “Sidewalk landscaping” is wrong link (puc veg palette by a mistake). Should be: http://sfpublicworks.org/services/plant-lists-and-plant-palettes
[x] RESOURCES. Under Plant Lists, “Street tree list” link not work. Should be: http://sfpublicworks.org/services/approved-street-tree-list
[x] RESOURCES. “You can use the Plant Finder for this list.” This font is different.
[x] RESOURCES. I did not ask for the City Lists to be under the Plant Lists, but I like it! However, both of the “Public Works” links under “City Lists” don’t work. Use the links from the original doc. Also, the actual street tree list there, didn’t do the list on the plantfinder. 80 plants, when you click on it on the home.
