Redgifs 403 forbidden because of Cloudflare #2063

Closed Honihona closed 1 year ago

So I'm trying to download a Subreddit, but all the videos that are in Redgifs return a 403 forbidden because of Cloudflare. Is this a known issue? Is there a solution for this? Thanks a lot!

Same thing for Patreon

Is this reproducible with a specific URL?

I was using this extractor just.. yesterday, I think? And it was still working as usual. Are there new API limits in place or what?

Did you upgrade Python by any chance? It started happening after i upgraded to Python 3.10.0. When i reverted back to 3.9.7, it was working again for me

I'm using 3.10, and I haven't seen this issue.. yet.

If you are on Windows, installing 3.10 doesn't remove 3.9 and if you didn't re-install gallery-dl in 3.10, then it is still using the 3.9 gallery-dl.exe

Getting the same error trying to download subscribestar attachments on windows 10. Images and videos download normally, it's just the attached files that fail.

[downloader.http][warning] '403 Forbidden'

Tried installing gallery-dl with python 3.9 and 3.10 and the standalone windows executable too. Nothing works. Everything was working fine a few days ago.

The cloudflare issue comes and goes. I've started figuring out that if I'm getting sudden 403 errors to just try again later on in the day. It usually resolves itself.

I've been getting those for weeks now, the 403's from subscribestar's attachments have not gone away at any point during that, sadly. Currently have just been downloading them manually since I couldn't figure out a way around them.

Has there been any solution to this issue? haven't had it before but now seems like 403 is coming constantly on redgifs, patreon etc

readcomicsonline is affected too. Can't remember if they used Cloudflare before, but now it shows up every time loading the site.
