this is informative Mikhail. Can you please add the keyword "numHistoryShards" to your title / body, it will make this article get discovered more when people are googling around for help. I was sent over to your article by the temporal community forums as I was looking for help on the same, and I kept using the keyword numHistoryShards in my search query, as that's what the parameter is called in temporal.

Great article! I am really hoping that the memory consumption graph is mislabeled and is in MB rather than GB. Or does history service need a TB of RAM to run with 64 shards?

Thanks for this amazing article ! This isn't really explained in the documentation other than "you should over-provision it", so this article is a great addition to it. Really helped us picking a value for our needs.
