Brush get locked wont change to eraser with keyboard shortcut #12

Hi @millionart, Ive been using photoshopbrushrotate a few days and its very useful. However, brush tool get locked frequently. I draw a bit then try to change to eraser with letter 'e', but nothing happens it keeps on brush tool unless I manually select the eraser tool from the tool bar. So keyboard shorcuts to swap brush/eraser dont work when this happens. Another way to unlock is to make right click, then it would allow me to get into eraser again, however this not always work. Any idea, how to solve this. Using Photoshop 24 on Windows 10 ?. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I'm not sure I fully understood what you were saying. Do you mean that the e of the eraser causes the brush tool to get locked or are they two issues? The known issue is that the brush must not go beyond the canvas when using drag and drop rotation or it will not work. Other than that I have not found that the eraser's e not working, can you tell me the localization you are using for Photoshop? If so, could you record a short video to reproduce the problem?

Hey millionart,

Sure, Here im attaching a video, that states the problem better. The problem occurs when swapping between brush and eraser tools with keyboard shortcuts ( b and e) while using the brush rotate tool. At some point is not possible to change to eraser and I will get stucked on brush tool.

For this video I use a keystroke recorder, so you can see that e is not registered when the problem occurs(which I am typing). I am repeatedly pressing the b and e key but after the problem occurs only b works. However, when I get out of photoshop the e key is registered normally.

This problem can only be solved when refreshing the brush rotate tool.

Thanks in advance for your help.

From watching the video, and my own attempts, I have found that there is a small chance of this problem occurring when repeatedly pressing b and e and the left button (digitizer pen drawing) at the same time, however, I have not found it impossible to undo this problem with the right button. Thanks for the feedback, I'll watch this for a while and figure out how to deal with it.

Hi, bruguaman I tried to reproduce the bug in my other computer, however after numerous tests I was not successful. I presume that because this computer of mine uses a mechanical keyboard that does a good job of avoiding keystroke conflicts, it doesn't produce this bug, I don't know if you're using a similar device, so I hope you'll give it a try. However, I still updated the version of the software to add an AutoReload option designed to automatically reset the software functionality after each rotation of the brush, but it may not be possible to support the rotation function during the reloading process (about 1 second), which should be a viable option considering that no one should normally be able to rotate the brush repeatedly and quickly. You can download version 1.6 from gumroad now and right click in the system status bar to enable this option, hopefully this will help you out.
