Search issue with modified header #202

I have a strange problem which, after hours of searching, leads to the header file and i can't explain it.

After uploading the theme i modified a lot of css. So far so good. I also modified the header file. I made it stick to the grid and placed it under a logo and the search box.

I didn't edit the searchform and double checked it by copying the file from a fresh reverie download.

When i use my custom header in the theme the search box works and shows results id i use it on the home page. From a subpage however i either get a "file not found" error or just the subpage again.

If i place the original header.php file back everything works again. My setup is the same, modules are the same etc. Just a different header.php file.

Any idea what is going wrong?

Did a rebuild from scratch and the issue is gone.
