navigation bar loses correct styling on home, reference and about page #327

Correct styling of navigation bar with separation between links and white underscore is sometimes lost when window is resized on both the reference and about page. Issue doesn't happen on both the tutorial or playground which makes me think its probably a minor css consistency issue.

similar cramping of the navigation bar occurs when resizing on the home page.

White underscore now shows up fine on all pages.

page resizes weirdly when opening tutorial but opening this in separate issue.
