I've come across olelo not long ago while searching for a git based wiki, it seems to be pretty good so far.
I wanted to integrate it with emacs org-mode better, here are the patches resulting from this effort:
orgmode_emacs: org-mode filter using emacs/emacsclient to generate html/latex/pdf
adds_title: emacs org-mode already generates a title, so olelo wouldn't add it again
emacs org-mode is using MathJax to parse LaTeX math syntax and display it using javascript, it works great, you might want to consider integrating it to olelo
I converted a mediawiki installation to git using a modified version of levitation and I needed a mediawiki filter for this:
mediawiki filter: wikicloth can parse mediawiki syntax more or less, it has bugs, but usable for simpler markup
notfound capitalize: try a capitalized version of the page name if it's not found, mediawiki does that and it's useful sometimes (and I didn't want to change all the lowercase links)
