Just commenting to point out that this issue is probably affecting all phones
with ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) and should probably be bumped up in priority, as
it takes away a major functionality of the fantastic Scandinavian Keyboard.

My Samsung Nexus S got upgraded to ICS recently and the dictionary support went
out the window. I got a new phone (the Galaxy Nexus, Samsung's flagship with
ICS) and the dictionary support for Scandinavian Keyboard doesn't work there
either.

My coworker had the exact same experience with his two phones (one got upgraded
to ICS and the other was bought new with ICS) but neither have dictionary
support.

I notice from the changelog that dictionary support needs to be upgraded each
time the OS updates but the last changelog entry is almost a year old. Is the
Scandinavian Keyboard still actively maintained or do I need to start tracking
down an alternative?

:(

I definitely agree that this issue needs to bumped in priority. It currently
makes the app useless on ICS.

I can only agree. It is totally useless in ICS. Is there a plan for an update?

Please Please Please update jni dictionary lib for Ice Cream Sandwich.

I took the code and managed to create a working scandinavian dictionary for ICS.

I had to make some minor changes since I was looking at how other android
keyboards where loading the dictionary in the jni lib, since Google changed how
assets are read.

I'm not sure what this will do to backward compatibility but I think this can
be published to the market as ICS only and have the other APK for lower
versions.

Here is a pre edition if any body wants to test it and let me know how it works
for you. It's working fine with the Icelandic dictionary that I have.

But since this is the same version but with my development key you must
uninstall the previous version.

Hopefully Trygveaa can then take the modified code and publish a clear update
in the market.

Wow. This worked for me. The dictionary is working for me again on ICS on my
Google Nexus. Thanks, Sverrir!

I really hope trygveaa can update the official app so everyone can benefit.

@sverrir
Your update does not work for me, it disables the dictionary, eventhough I have
enabled it in settings. Also tried to remove the dictionary and reinstall, but
without any changes.

I use the danish language dictionary on english keyboard layout - on a samsung
galaxy 2

I would very much appreciate if you, or someone else can make it work :-)

Did you try to uninstall all dictionaries, and reinstall, and select manually?

Yes, and I also tried it with a restart between uninstall and install, and yet
again after install, but the line with word surgestion does not even appear.
For now, I have set the user dictionary for 1 repeat, so it remembers all my
words, and then I must delete the crucked ords and use this untill a better and
more permanent solution is possible.

It's always best if you have a problem to send a log if you can.

There is a program on the market called catlog that you can user to see what is
happening in the system and also record a log file that you could send.

If you manage to create one and send it to me and I will take a look.

I have both Icelandic and English dictionary and they work.

The only thing that I know that is not working and I'm trying to fix is the
swype feature since there is a change in how that is handled in ICS.

So here is a version that fixes the danish dictionary and hopefully others that
are built the same way.

The only thing now would be if I could get access to Trygveaa to create a
update for the market.

Sorry for being so absent here. Sverrir contacted me with the changes he had
done to fix this issue, and they are now released.

I can't seem to find the updated sources for the ICS keyboard fix. Have they
