may need to review if there is anything broken with jquery 1.8 or bootstrap 2.1.0 also look at the Stacked example on, http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/components.html#progress

looks like everything works - except the stacked bar with centered text.

it automatically removes any other bars than the main bar.

so there is nothing against using it with jquery 1.8 and bootstrap 2.1.0
