I get the above message when I drag and drop the .crx file to the Chrome extensions page. Any ideas? Thanks, buzz

try remove the old one first

ingress-portals-finder has never been installed on this computer. Thanks for the reply!

the 1.3.15 crx from build/, It works fine in my Chrome Version 26.0.1410.64 m / Version 27.0.1453.110 m & Version 29.0.1529.3 canary

what os & chrome version are you using?

buzzra commented 11 years ago

Chrome Version 27.0.1453.110 & Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

I found the problem. The instructions say 'download CRX file'. That dos NOT mean right click and 'save link as'. It means click on CRX link, then click 'Raw' and save file.

Thanks for a great add-on!

buzzra, thanks. I had the same problem. Tried a million things and your solution finally worked.

To add to it... when I click on "view raw", Chrome gives me an error about not being able to install from this website. So I clicked "view raw" in firefox, downloaded it, and then dragged that .crx file into chrome://extensions

You could not install it directly when download.

1) find the .crx file in the download folder 2) open chrome://extensions 3) drag the .crx into the window area ( NOT the location bar )
