The game crashes when swimming in water. #560

Whenever you swim in water, there is a pretty decent chance the game will crash. Crash report.txt

Walking on land is not a problem.

Also, when water crashes multiple times in the same area, there is a good chance that this area will get corrupted.

Could you provide crashing (corrupt) world for investigation? Thanks

a-h-ismail commented 3 years ago

Too late... I already deleted the corrupt world and restored a backup, but you could reproduce it relatively easily: go to an ocean and keep swimming there, let it crash multiple time, then the crash will occur much more faster, even if you got the chance to get out of the water.

I am having the same issue on my realm. Whenever I swim, it has a chance of getting a zero run error and I have to use a realm backup to get back in.

I ran into the issue myself. It seems like the "hand_bob" (the little waving animation the hand does while moving) is causing the problem. Turning on the "Hide Hand" option in the video settings solved the issue for me.

I checked the game logs too, it seems like there are tons of errors with in-game animations.

mashariet commented 3 years ago

That seemed to fix the problem. Once I turned on "hide hand" it resolved the issue. This also seems to fix the issue of the game crashing near a witch hut with a trident killer installed.

Doesn't seem to have fixed it fully. Spent about 15-min in an Ocean monument before the issue resurfaced.
