7 months ago Ye, I've contacted Christopher, he said that he'll check it out in a bit, as it's only 1 dev who is onto this, so for now we gotta wait with 1.20.51

7 months ago To be honest, everything I tried so far is extreme buggy. (without a gui to manage experiments not going to be included in a release)
E.g. you press ä on your keyboard when you currently can't type in the launcher, it get's filtered out by the game due to beeing not in the visible char range of space to the last printable us ascii of the unicode range without control chars.
Another thing I saw is when unfocusing and typing very fast, the textbox get cleared randomly.

6 months ago Yea, I've experienced those too but they ain't as annoying as the one in the report, anyways till mojang releases a good update, ig we can't fix it either

Describe the bug While in game, when opened chat, it isnt letting us type anything and need to press tab or enter to type.
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Expected behavior I Have this issue where when i opened chat and typed in chat, it wouldn't register it, but after pressing tab or enter, i can type. I have also observed a button changing (im not sure of the name) but its at extreme left of the chat bar, it changed from an arrow to a keyboard keys. below i have provided the button image
