I believe that the rate limiting happens across all apps, and not just our app. I.E. if you have 3 more uses till you exceed the rate limit on say, Twitter for iPhone/Android, and then you use Project Macaw and you use it 3 times, then the rate limit has been reached. It is not a rate limit for individual apps, but for collective.
Interesting. I tried some other apps on my touchpad (TweetPad and Spaz HD Beta Preview), so it might be them. I'm not using them anymore, so if it doesn't show up again, i'll close the issue. Thanks!
Thanks Chris. And be sure to know, I have exceeded the rate limit by using Project Macaw alone before :) So it can happen, but isn’t likely to happen..

Well, this is interesting. I stopped using the app when I initially posted the issue about three hours ago. I didn't close it, I just minimized it. At around 4:15, I went back to the app and hit refresh. It worked. After clicking on one tweet, however, I get the "rate limit exceeded" message again. Additionally, my phone battery is nearly dead. It was fully charged at noon, and now at 4:15, it's at 30% (and is fairly warm). Granted, my phone (pre 3) isn't known for its excellent battery life, but something's up. Project Macaw was the only app running, and is the only app i've installed recently. JSTop shows nothing interesting (unfortunately, I had closed Project Macaw before thinking to open JSTop).
Notifications are enabled, and set to 12 hours. (I set this immediately after running the app for the first time.)
It sounds like the notifications are misbehaving for you.Can you please visit http://github.com/minego/phnx and create a new issue? I can say when we will get a chance to work on it, but hopefully soon.MicahOn Jun 9, 2012 2:50 PM, Chris reply@reply.github.com wrote: Well, this is interesting. Thanks. I just posted the new issue, "notifications can become overactive". If that's a terrible title, I can change it. I'll clone the project and see if I can find out what's going on, but since I'm unfamiliar with it, I don't expect much success.
Thank you. The title is fine.
I'd be happy to accept a pull request if you can come up with a fix.
Thanks, Micah

I have project macaw installed on my pre3. After 1 hour of light usage (three tweets, and two notifications), I get the banner message "400 Rate limit exceeded. Clients…". Any further activity just shows this banner again.
