Exhibition mode hides avatar without turning it back on #98

As title. Need to turn "hide avatar" on then off to turn it back on after exhibition.

This is due to a bug when reading preferences when the scene starts. The same bug effects a normal launch some times. I've committed a fix that should be in the next release.
