I am currently using minetest 0.5.0-dev and this is the current collisionbox when I press F7

Yes, this is a known issue, which will be fixed closer to the time of MT 0.5.0 being released. The problem with fixing it now is that it will break players who play on MT stable. See #104 for a fix :)
