License for textures? #25

Hi, could you please clarify what's the license for rope textures? I think the MIT license only covers the code and documentation but not artwork: "Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal in the Software without restriction". I checked git history and it appears that these textures were under an unspecified version of the Creative Commons license. I want to know because we're using your textures in Exile (https://content.minetest.net/packages/Mantar/exile/) and we want to add copyright info accordingly so we stay legal.

My apologies for not having addressed this way back in the day. It's tricky now, it seems. This mod was split out of the old vines mod, which as you say simply says "CC" for the texture license. But the only textures that have come through from there are the vines item texture (now called ropes_item.png) and the three ropeladder.png textures (which were derived from vines_rope.png. All the other ones are, I believe, creations of mine - I can release those under CC0, which is my usual license for textures.

Unfortunately Bas080 has been inactive since February 2017, I don't think we'll get clarification from him. I could create new textures to replace those two.

I think we're only using your rope textures, but there's also a ladder texture: https://codeberg.org/Mantar/Exile/src/branch/master/mods/ropes/textures So generally if I write "textures by FaceDeer under CC0", then that should okay at least for your textures?
