In those days I checked each mod individually and applied only the mods I like to the game. Can you tell me which mods from the modpacks should be in game too?
The xdecor mod I did not added because it's an indivisible blob that allow just to accept all or to reject all. Such blobs takes it difficult to judge the quality. But I see some parts can be disabled by parameters...
The ones with "(decide)" means you can decide weather to it is necessary or not For mesecons is missing:
Thank you for the list. I added them as table to the first post and adjust some status. The rest we need to look in detail and track the status in the table.
The decision I taken years ago, at beginning of the game. For Mesecons I used only "easy-to-use" mods. My childs should be able to play with them without engineering studies. But may that is not Whynot criteria.. Homedecor was a blob before 2 years and was splitted down in the meantime. So maybe some mods can be added again.
Votum against 3d_extras, I do not like the 3d models that breaks the Minetest spirit

I think you're right you can consider not add homedecor_3d_extras
if you need help with this (I could create a pull request with the mesecons changes if that helps you) let me know.
There is no issue to apply the change, but to decide if it should happens. Each mod needs to be checked if it match the whynot criteria in the meantime. In the beginning I decided to not apply all mods for any reason. If I remember right because my claim was my childs should be able to use each the mod intuitively, without reading howtos. Since my childs any me do not play the game anymore, the Whynot is in maintenance mode only. The game lost my attention, so it is still not updated for Minetest-5.4 for example. Feel free to fork the game and apply any mod to your fork. If you like to use my (linux) updater scripts, I can zip and upload my workdir to any place
Homedecor mods are to be reconsidered in #65
I think, as homedecor mods have shown us, it's possible to have a modpack where a subset of the modpack fits with whynot, but the entire thing doesn't.
I personally think we should continue reviewing mods one-at-a-time.
I've decided that to keep this issue simple, I'll use #41 to analyze the mesecons modpack, specifically, as we are doing with homedecor.
The luacontroller looks like it breaks the lag rule. I think it'd be fine with the mesecons restriction mod - though that one depends on a few other mods listed above.
I've noticed some modpacks aren't full installed
Can you add them?
