Users can supply text to supplement package textual descriptions (i.e. reviews) but not supplemental images.
Some package maintainers can't be bothered to include decent screenshots, or may even lack the capability to take them properly, underselling otherwise good packages.
Some complaints, issue reports, or warnings to other users in threads/reviews may warrant supplemental visuals for demonstration purposes.
Imitation of Amazon's "customer images" feature.
Solutions
Allow users to attach screenshots to reviews and threads. They would follow the same moderation process as normal screenshots.
Optional: user voting/rating on screenshots themselves, and
Optional: promotion of the most-upvoted screenshots to appear after the "official" screenshots in the existing thumbnail list on an "as long as there's room" basis.
Alternatives
I've considered running a "screenshot contest" for NodeCore to better visually showcase the game's features, but it's a lot of setup work to do it myself, whereas CDB already has most of the tech necessary to handle it itself, as well as an existing moderation pipeline.
