Hacker keyboard does not remain when picked. It goes back to original keyboard

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.select hacker
2.enter text using hacker keyboard and send
3.open next text or email

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Goes back to factory keyboard.  Hacker does not remain when picked. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Droid x2

This sounds like an operating system bug or misfeature for this specific phone, 
the selection of input methods happens completely outside Hacker's Keyboard. 

Have you tried any other third-party keyboard to see if it's also affected by 
this issue?
