Cannot see "Reporting" space under Data Dictionary #32

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. installed amp forcefully to alfresco.war
2. created databasereporting database and given proper permission to alfresco
user
3. edited tomcat/webapps/alfresco/META-INF/context.xml added proper values

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In the explorer I should be seeing "Reporting" space under Data Dictionary

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using CE 4.2.d on Centos Linux 64 bit

Please provide any additional information below.

Hi jjk.saji,

Thanks for testing/using this reporting tool, and registering this issue!

Can you please send me/attach the relevant part of Alfresco-global.properties,
and the logfile from the moment your system starts until it completes starting
up?? (Can be by email if you don't want to share publicly)

Thanks!

Hi
I took time, test test and try out to make sure I am not doing any mistakes.
Tried with Fedora, Ubuntu
Each time I am getting the same result. I am adding the
alfresco-global.properties and and catalina.out for your reference.
I had installed amp using the command

sudo /opt/alfresco/java/bin/java -jar /opt/alfresco/bin/alfresco-mmt.jar
install alfresco-business-reporting-explorer-0.8.0.3.amp alfresco.war -force

I was not able to see the "Reorting" space under Data Dictionary
I replied late, because I was trouble shooting with various OS and other options
thanks

After trial and error, continuous trying out different linux os.
I happened to see the "Reporting" space
How did I get it, I tried running " apply_amps.sh" from /opt/alfresco/bin
I could see now the "Reporting".
So in short after running alfresc-mnt.jar with force option, you need to run
 "apply_amps.sh" to make it effective
can we update the docs accordingly, so that new comers need not go through all
the problems which I faced
Thanks
Joseph John

Ah. Now i understand. The amp never got deployed properly.

You put your amp in alfresco/amps or alfresco/amps-share. Next execute
apply-amps.sh. this will unpack the amp inside the war, as well as remove the
existing folder(s) webapps/alfresco and webapps/share. The latter is needed to
force tomcat to re-unpack this war file. Without removing these folders under
webapps, the new war is never used... (as in your observation).

Basic alfresco thingy I expected known. I will check the guiding text at my
wiki again!

Can we close this ticket?
