MoJ are changing call centre provider from 8x8 to a new provider. As part of this they need to transfer sensitive data from one provider to the new one.
To enable this we need to create a secure SFTP client with connectivity to 8x8 and the new provider.
The work will be done in 2 stages, the first a sample copy and upload, after which any data will be fully deleted. This needs to be done over the next few weeks.
The 2nd stage will be sometime next year.
A user will be responsible for copying the data from 8x8 to the SFTP client and then uploading to the new providers S3 bucket.
As this is a temporary requirement we will do this within modernisation platform accounts - rather than creating any new accounts
Value / Purpose
This is to meet contractual agreements to transfer data from current to new provider
Context / Background
The MoJ has looked at a number of alternative methods for migrating the data - particularly looking at a direct transfer. However these have all been ruled out.
The new call centre provider needs data from historic (and ongoing) calls.
The new provider will need some time to validate the import process.
8*8 will delete all of the existing data by 31st March 2025.
The MoJ team do not have the required skills to do this work themselves, so it has been agreed that we will do this.

Additional Information
The full dataset size is around 1TB
We should consider if we can do this with AWS file transfer family of services https://aws.amazon.com/aws-transfer-family/ rather than a traditional EC2.
Definition of Done
[ ] Decide where to host it in ModP (use long-term-storage account?)
[ ] Confirm connectivity details
[ ] SFTP client built
[ ] It can access both sites
[ ] The device and access routes are as secure as possible
[ ] The user will be able to access the Sftp client
[ ] Data downloaded into a secure S3 bucket
[ ] When the upload is complete - all data is securely deleted within mod platform - ideally provide some evidence of this to the MoJ team
[ ] A new ticket is raised to cover doing this all over again for the full data set
