What

Create a method and process for the team to prioritise what components, patterns, or pages to work on next.

Why

To help us prioritise what component, pattern, or page to work on next:

We have usage audits to show the frequency a component is used.
We have accessibility audits to show what accessibility issues are flagged.
We need to estimate the work involved in improving/creating components.

Prioritisation carried out to select which component from the MoJ Design System that the team will work to improve in Cycle 2 (September 2024).

Data from; documentation site analytics, MoJ Frontend code repository, and Figma analytics, combined with sizing components and estimating potential work involved, has led to the decision to improve the button menu component.

@murrlipp has started to map out a process for improving an existing component from the MoJ Design System. The initial part of this process map includes information about prioritisation to decide on what component to work on.

Next steps for this task are:

[ ] #690 - Use the method trialled for the button menu component to identify 5 components we will improve
[ ] Create and publish a poll to go out to communities at MoJ to receive direction on which of the 5 components would be most valuable for the team to work on
