Uses/needs data:

Own CID (from VATSIM connect)
Own position (Match own CID to online SI)
Active positions (From cidsi API)

Use TopskyMap logic to make maintaining data easier (copy paste from GNG, maybe py parser): (TopSky plugin for EuroScope - Developer Guide.pdf page 37)
