New release on pypi #62

Closed benkonrath closed 4 hours ago

Any chance we can get a new release on pypi?. There are some Python 3.12 warnings that have been fixed but haven't been published. Thanks.

Hi Ben. Would you do me a favor and please check existing issues, including closed ones, before filing new issues? Thanks — much appreciated.

Hi Justin,

It was a simple request. I'm sorry that I bothered you by filing it. I have to admit that I find your response a bit off putting. No one is forcing you to do anything - just leaving the project as is could also be an option if you're no longer interested.

For what it's worth, I looked at the current issues and tried to be polite when I made the request. I didn't think to look at the closed issues because the problem still exists (so why would there be a closed issue). I still think a new release is warranted given the warnings on Python 3.12 with the pypi version. I noticed that the warnings have already been addressed so it's just a matter of actually making the release.

In #61 you mentioned:

As far as I am aware, the Typogrify code has not changed since 2.0.7.

Not entirely true, the Python 3.12 warnings have been addressed. It's not only formatting and style changes. Of course these are just warnings and it looks like Typogrify hasn't functionally changed. Getting rid of the warnings is nice because they just add noise and can get in the way of seeing real warning or error messages.

In any case, I apologize again for bothering you.

Take care, Ben

I am packing for a trip, had only a moment to respond, and wanted to point out that a similar issue was just filed three days ago. No offense was intended.

I fully intend to issue a new release, which I will do upon my return from the aforementioned trip.
