Hello. I try to use dvrescue-gui on a Ubuntu 20.04 with firewire to capture dv. Dvrescue don't find my device (Sony DES-25 or Camcoder Sony DCR-VX1000E). In the settings part, dvrescue asks me "Please specify tool locations" ... "avfctl path" in gray. What can i do. Differents commands in Terminal : numerisation@numerisation:~$ sudo dvgrab -i [sudo] Mot de passe de numerisation : Error: no camera exists numerisation@numerisation:~$ lspci | grep 1394 0000:92:00.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Texas Instruments TSB82AA2 IEEE-1394b Link Layer Controller (rev 01) numerisation@numerisation:~$ Thanks for help. Regards, jb.

Hi @jbbenoit73, I know this is an old issue but could you retry with dvrescue (lately most features of avfctl which was mac-specific have been redone as cross platform in dvrescue)

So

dvrescue --list_devices
dvrescue device://0 -cmd play
