GUI won't start - "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" #667

Hiya,

I'm having trouble with the dvrescue gui on an Ubuntu 22.04 LTS machine. I installed dvrescue (22.12) recently using the snap .deb package, along with dependencies. However, when I start the gui application in the terminal, it returns the error. "segmentation fault (core dumped)". Trying to start the application using its icon in the gnome "show applications" does nothing.

Here's a full readout:

maceadmin@amacewrk08:~$ dvrescue-gui appDirPath: "/usr/bin" prefix: "/usr" PATH: "/usr/lib64/dvrescue/bin:/usr/lib/dvrescue/bin:/home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/bin:/home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/sbin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/games:/snap/bin:/home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/bin:/snap/bin" Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Any ideas how to fix? Thanks in advance.

Hiya,

Just following up on this.

It's a bit of a wierd one. I managed to installed the same dvrescue-gui.deb package on another ubuntu 22.04 LTS machine without issue.

I then tried to install the 20.04 .deb package on the problem 22.04LTS machine. This worked and dvrescue is now up and launching without issue.
