Distorted sound in Analysis window #672

Hi,

I'm working at Filmform in Sweden and have an issue with the sound being distorted in the preview under the analysis tab. When playing the capture in other players there are no problems but in the preview even the parts with no errors sound distorted. The same occurs when we analyze previously captured material. Although it might be another issue we also have trouble with the controls incorrectly displaying the action being performed, i.e. stating "playing" while recording and "capturing" when only playing.

Not sure what information might be relevant for the issue but I am using:

MacOS Catalina 10.15.7;
DVRescue GUI + CLI 0.21.11.20230128_Mac; BlackMagic Intensity Extreme, desktop video setup version 11.7; BlackMagic Media Express version 3.6.2;

Thankful for any help concerning our problems!

Kindly, Tove at Filmform in Sweden

Hi @ToveFF could you run the file through dvpackager and then retry and let us know if the behavior is different.

Hi @dericed I tried this but with the same result.

If it's any help I encountered the same problem with the other version (20230114) and then tried to update to see if it would resolve the problem. I earlier had trouble with the capturing part whereas the analysis worked. Thank you for your help! /Tove

Should I try to install an earlier version perhaps?

I wanted to add to this just to confirm that the distorted/choppy audio in Analysis is still happening even in the newest release of dvrescue. It happens with every file and does not reflect any actual issues with the file. When played outside of dvrescue, the audio will sound fine.
