Hey @DragonSlayer1514, there's an issue where when saving a log and recording at the same time, the gui info will get lost. I removed the save log option from the preferences for now. So could you go to preferences and say no for saving the log (or grab the latest daily build) and retry?

oh yikes, I'm guessing that the nonsense characters are raw dv sent to stderr. Can you paste the debug output in https://gist.github.com/ and share a link to it. Also can you verify there's a difference with dvrescue --list_devices_json when the gui-bundled cli vs the separately installed cli?
