Why not create a matrix group chat on Ping to spread the word. There are rooms dedicated to other clients like element.

Good suggestion! I want to have some sort of working example or mockup before going more public with this. Having that would better convey the vision for the project than just the blurb I have in the README. I will certainly share more about it once it's at that point and make sure you know about it.

I hope you get lots of help and good developers for this project. I would enjoy a free, open source gaming client built on Matrix which could get gamers to move away from Discord to a more federated chat system.
