Failing to grant access #184

For some reason the app does not recognize my gmail account on my myTouch HTC. 
I used to have it on my old G2 HTC and now when I reinstalled the app it does 
not automatically recognize my e-mail address. 

When I open the app it opens up a browser taking me to my gmail through the web 
and asks me to grant the app permission to access my account. Once I click on 
grant permission, nothing happens and permission is not granted. 

How can I deal with this problem?
