OpenPandora does not load Pandora #66

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run Pandora
2. Tray icon and window show up
3. "Please Wait, loading Pandora..." never goes away

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to see Pandora, instead there is no network activity and the
progress bar stays at 0

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OpenPandora 0.6.8.8 on Windows XP SP2, IE 7, Firefox 2.0.0.12

Please provide any additional information below.
I've allowed it in my firewall, and I don't have a proxy, so I don't think
it's a network problem. I have tried other Pandora clients, and none of
them worked either, but OpenPandora gets closer to working.

Does pandora work when you open it with Internet Explorer 7 without using the
client?

I run OpenPandora, with a proxy server set up, as 127.0.0.1 and port 9666

When the proxy details are changed in the internet settings, OpenPandora loads
fine.
But when I enter the settings directly into OpenPandora, it does not load, at
all.

Im in Windows XP SP3.

I encountered this issue after closing OpenPandora (from within the
application, not
via Task Manager). Subsequent relaunches only provided "Please Wait, loading
Pandora..."

Pandora still runs from within FireFox.

I have not yet tried logging out, logging back in, and relaunching Pandora.

Update - I'm running 0.7.0.6

After about 10 minutes, another relaunch was successful in getting the app
running
(just saw this suggestion in the FAQ).

If this is a known issue, or waiting/relaunching is the only way around some
roadblock, could this advice be mentioned in the "loading" message (or after a
particular period of time has elapsed) ?

Running 0.7.0.6 on Windows XP SP3. Same problem - "Please Wait, loading
Pandora..." never goes away and uses 50 - 70% of the CPU the entire time.
Pandora works fine in Firefox.

Running 0.7.0.6 on Windows 7, having same issue.

If waiting ten minutes to relaunch the program is the only way to fix this, I
won't be using it. I'm sure I'm not alone in that either.

This priority needs to be WAY higher than medium as it makes the program
basically unusable (or at least not worth using).
