Sega Mouse on DB9 ports not working #87

I am trying to get an original Japanese Mega Drive Sega Mouse to work on the MIST Genesis core. I can not get it to register at all, no matter what DB9 port or settings I use. Do the DB9s on the MIST work with the Genesis core? I've tried using a 6 button pad on the DB9 ports and the MIST only sees buttons A and B. If I use a USB pad then it sees all 6 buttons. I bought the mouse used, and I do not have a real Genesis to test with, so I do not even know if the mouse works.

It was discussed several times, devices which requires some of the pins to be an output won't work.
